Display Veritas Volume Manager Disk Groups

  • This procedures describes how to obtain and review Vertias Volume Manager Disk Groups information for single host.
  • None
  • q-Status™ Vertias Volume Manager Disk Group information is collected using the Veritas Volume Manager command vxprint -ht.

Step Action Description
1 Select the text "Disk Group" from
the "Veritas Volume Manager"
icon in the "DiskVolume Manager(s)"
Icon set.

Move mouse over the word Disk Group in the "Vertias Volume Manager" icon in the "Disk Volume Manager(s)" icon set till the text is enlarges. Click the mouse. The single host selection page will be displayed with a "Volume Manager Group Listing" Title.

Note: All in blue in any Icon text will generate a single host selection dialog.
2 Make a server selection

Navigate through the host selection page, filtering or ordering server selection till the proper Hostname appears. Move mouse over magifying icon () for that Hostname till it enlarges, then click. The "Veritas Volume Group Listing" report will be display.

The "Veritas Volume Group Listing" consist these columns:

  • Disk Group
  • Media
  • Physical Disks
  • Physical size of physical disk
  • Volumes Associated to that Disk Group
  • Volume Sizes
  • State

This group listing will allso identify Spares and disk failures. Sparc disk will be highlighted in green. Disk failures in The Status column will be highlighted in red. If a disk group has been created, but not Volume defined. The "Volumns" column will state "NO VOLUMN".

3 Optionally click
for raw disk data display.
Move mouse over the hostname of the server in the "Veritas Volume Group Listing" report. When highlighted, click mouse to display RAW vxprint -ht data collected by q-Status™.

This will display the "Display RAW vxprintht data" as a popup window. This file is generate from the Vertias command vxprint -ht.
